Jim Miller

Jim Miller, who obtained a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering in 1986, has had a career spanning four decades at the forefront of high-technology industries. He began at Intel Corporation as a production manager during the introduction of the Pentium chip. Miller then transitioned to Amazon, where he contributed to the remarkable growth of e-commerce. Following his tenure at Amazon, he joined Cisco Systems, Inc., capitalizing on the burgeoning telecommunications industry driven by the internet. He then moved to First Solar, aligning with the increasing demand for green technologies. Subsequently, Miller assumed the role of vice president for worldwide operations at Google, playing a key role in the company's global prominence in search and cloud computing. In 2018, Miller took the helm as CEO of AREVO, a leading company in 3D printing technology. Two years later, he became chief technology officer of Wayfair, one of the world’s largest home-furnishing destinations. Purdue honored Miller with a Distinguished Engineering Alumnus Award in 2014.
