Emily M. Liggett received a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering in 1977. Her career has been marked by relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation across various industries. Following graduation, Liggett began her career at DuPont Company, where she served as a field engineer, gaining valuable experience in the chemical industry. In 1980, Liggett joined Raytheon Corporation, where she spent 17 years in dynamic global leadership roles. In 1997, she became CEO of Elo TouchSystems, a pioneering manufacturer of touch-screen technology. Under her visionary leadership, the company experienced exponential growth, expanding its global footprint across Asia and Europe while achieving remarkable yearly revenue and profit increases. Liggett's entrepreneurial spirit and management prowess propelled her to subsequent leadership positions, including managing partner of Tyco Ventures, as well as CEO of Capstone Turbine, Apexon, and NovaTorque. Purdue presented Liggett with an Outstanding Chemical Engineer Award in 1999.
