Darryl W. Davis

Darryl W. Davis graduated in 1978 with a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering. His aerospace career was nothing short of remarkable. Joining McDonnell Douglas’ propulsion department after graduation, Davis quickly distinguished himself with his expertise and innovative approach. His tenure spanned McDonnell Douglas' merger with The Boeing Company, where he continued to excel for 38 years. In 2009, Davis' exceptional leadership skills resulted in his appointment as CEO of Boeing's Phantom Works. In this role, he oversaw nearly 3,000 employees dedicated to developing cutting-edge products and technologies for the U.S. military, contributing notably to advancements in military aviation and defense capabilities. Davis retired from Boeing in 2017, leaving a legacy of innovation and excellence in aerospace engineering. Purdue honored him with a Distinguished Engineering Alumnus Award in 2010.
