Purdue board honors Jamieson, ratifies new CoE dean

At its meeting on Friday, June 16, the Purdue Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Mung Chiang as the John A. Edwardson Dean of Engineering and the Roscoe H. George Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Team of Purdue, Northeastern students to compete at International Supercomputing Conference

The team includes Austyn Cousins, a sophomore in Computer Engineering and Austin Horning, a senior double-majoring in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. For the members of Purdue’s student supercomputing team, parallel programming and administering high-performance computing systems aren’t just concepts they’ve learned about in class – they’re techniques the students have put into practice building their own supercomputer.

Agriculture software startup co-founded by Professor David Ebert receives $50,000 from Purdue Ag-celerator

The Ag-celerator is a $2 million fund supported through a Purdue Moves initiative and designed to provide critical financial support for Purdue innovators wishing to commercialize patented intellectual property or Purdue know-how technologies in plant sciences. VinSense has developed integrated technology that can help wine grape growers better understand how the microclimate, including soil temperature, water and nutrient flow and availability, affects the characteristics of their vineyard's high-value crop.

Mark Lundstrom received the Mentoring Award, Peide "Peter" Ye received the Research Award, and the Team Award was given to the Implantable Networks of Wireless Nanoelectronic Nodes team, including Muhammad A. Alam, Pedro Irazoqui, Mark Lundstrom, and Zhongming Liu.
