Michael Ladisch, Distinguished Professor in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering and Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering and director of Purdue's Laboratory of Renewable Resources Engineering (LORRE) has been named a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors.

Pedro Irazoqui, Associate Head of the Weldon School, has been elevated to Senior Member status in the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE).

Corey Neu, assistant professor of biomedical engineering, received a Research Project Grant (R01) of approximately $1.6 million from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for his work in the early detection of osteoarthritis (OA). OA is a chronic, debilitating disease that affects some 27 million Americans, and much of the $128 billion spent on arthritis-related health care costs in the U.S. annually goes toward the treatment of OA.

Dr. Zhongming Liu, Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering, has been selected to receive a 2013-2014 Purdue Research Foundation (PRF) International Travel Grant.
