Jacqueline Linnes received a patent on a new device that selectively collects the liquid condensation of an exhaled breath and the method of using this device. This novel device is portable and can collect and condense reproducible volumes of exhaled breath in about 10 minutes using a unique temperature-based algorithm--improving glucose monitoring for hundreds of patients.

The program for the Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering emphasizes biomedical device development but can be tailored to support various career interests. This Professional Master's Program (PMP) equips students with knowledge in biomedical design and development, enhances decision-making and ethical engineering practices and boosts communication and leadership abilities, alongside a practical understanding of the healthcare industry's regulatory processes.

Research teams led by faculty at both the Indiana University School of Medicine and the Purdue University College of Engineering have been awarded pilot grants through the Engineering in Medicine pilot funding program to support joint research efforts as part of a growing ecosystem of collaboration and integration between the two schools.
