Jen Hatch has paper chosen to represent DEI efforts at conference

Congratulations to Jen Hatch, a lecturer with the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering, Purdue University in Indianapolis. Her paper was chosen to represent the Biomedical Engineering Division (BED) at the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Annual Conference. Her paper exemplified the best part of diversity, equity and inclusion efforts by members of the Biomedical Division.

Hatch’s paper, Work in Progress: A Multi-level Undergraduate Curricular Approach to Exploring Health Equity in Biomedical Engineering Solutions, focuses on answering the question, “How do students describe health equity consideration when exploring engineering design?”

Hatch’s paper was presented in a session sponsored by the Biomedical Engineering Division during the ASEE Annual Conference & Exposition and published in the Annual Conference & Exposition proceedings.  

Hatch’s co-authors include Steven Higbee, associate professor of practice, Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering; Danka Maric, research associate, Indiana University Indianapolis; and Sharon Miller, assistant vice provost, Purdue University in Indianapolis.
