David Jacobson, PhD, Professor of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, will present "Islet Na+/K+-ATPase as a key transducer of secretagogue and Gi/o-coupled receptor signal strength" on Monday, October 21 at 12:00 noon.

Jeffrey Lucas, Professor of Biological Sciences at Purdue will present "What in the world is animal communication" on Thursday, October 17th at 12:00 noon in Nelson Hall, Room 1215 as part of the Seminars in Hearing Research.

Dr. Meyank Mehta, Director of the Center for Physics of Life and Professor of Physics, Neurology and ECE at UCLA will present "Virtual reality for memory research and translation" on Wednesday, October 16th at 9:30 a.m. in MJIS 1001 and via Zoom. This is part of BME's Distinguished Research Seminar Series.

Abigail Metzger, AUD student, SLHS, will present "Comparing active vs passive auditory fNIRS experiments: Effects of response format and physiology correction" on Thursday, October 31, at 12:00 p.m. in Nelson Hall, Room 1215 as part of the Seminars in Hearing Research series.

Negin Ashki, MD, PhD, Senior Medical Director, Global/US Medical Affairs - Oncology, Eli Lilly and Company, will present "A Journey from Basic Neuroscientist to Clinical Oncologist to Leading Lilly Oncology/Hematology Drug Development Efforts" on Monday, October 14, at 4:00 p.m. in DLR 131.

Dr. Ioannis P. Androulakis, Professor of Biomedical Engineering, Chemical & Biochemical Engineering at Rutgers University will present "It's all about time! Towards Personalized Modeling of the Hierarchical Structure of the Circadian Timing System" on Wednesday, October 9 at 9:30 a.m. in MJIS 1001 and via Zoom.

Srivatsun Sadagopan, Associate Professor, University of Pittsburgh, will present "Auditory cortical computations for robust vocalization recognition" on Thursday, October 3 at 12:00 noon in Nelson Hall, Room 1215.

Thomas J. Webster, School of Biomedical Engineering and Health Sciences, Hebei University of Technology, Tianjin, China; School of Engineering, Saveetha University, Chennai, India; and Division of Pre-College and Undergraduate Studies, Brown University, Providence, RI will present a special seminar on Wednesday, October 2 at 10:30 a.m. in MJIS 1001 entitled "Eliminating Implant Infection: 30,000 Nanotextured Implants in Humans with no Failure."
