Three Purdue ECE student-athletes named winter academic all-Big Ten

Purdue Athletics has 72 Boilermakers from the winter sports season named to the Academic All-Big Ten team, recognizing student-athletes with a 3.0-plus cumulative grade point average.
The total is Purdue's winter academic record and most since 71 selections in 2019. The total is two more than the 2024 winter season. The Boilermakers are now up to 142 total student-athletes on the fall and winter all-academic teams combined.
Three student-athletes from the Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering earned the honor. It’s the third time on the list for Cecilie Wiuff from the Women’s Swimming and Diving Team, the second time for Raymond Whittaker from Men’s Swimming and Diving, and the first time for Brody Friend from the Men’s Swimming and Diving team.
Women's swimming & diving was highly represented with 26 honorees, followed by men's swimming and diving's 19. The swimming programs combined for 62.5-percent of Purdue's winter honorees.
The Boilermakers totaled 18 student-athletes who were selected for at least the third time. Thirty-nine Boilermakers were honored for at least the second time, while 33 Boilermakers made their debut on the list.
The Big Ten Conference had 1,153 total student-athletes recognized on the Academic All-Big Ten list.
