Why did you want to study abroad?

I wanted to study abroad to learn about university in another country, immerse myself in local culture, and travel around the region.

Where did you study abroad? Why did you choose this location/program?

I studied abroad at National University of Singapore, which I chose for its location, quality of education, and use of English.

Best experience:

My best experience was travelling to Tioman island, which is off the east coast of mainland Malaysia.  When I was there, I was able to climb a mountain and snorkel in a coral reef.

What you’ve learned—either about yourself or the culture you’re living in.

I learned that Singaporean culture is different from the one at Purdue in different ways than I anticipated, and that I can appreciate my surroundings wherever I am.

Would you suggest study abroad for other ECE students? Why?

I would suggest study abroad for other ECE students because it gives more context to education culturally and will likely be an enriching experience outside of the classroom.
