Brittany Mavrenovic

Brittany Mavrenovic spent the Spring 2018 semester on co-op with Kimberly-Clark Corporation in Neenah, WI

Name: Brittany Mavrenovic

Birthplace: Chicago, IL

Major: Electrical Engineering

Student Classification: Junior

Name and location of company where you are on co-op: Kimberly-Clark Corporation in Neenah, WI

Job duties: To assist senior Electrical engineers in completing and developing ongoing projects. Develop written procedures for management systems used on machines.

Why did you want to do this co-op/What do you hope to gain from the experience? Going into this co-op I hoped to apply the theoretical knowledge learned within the classroom and gain new experiences with industry programs such as AutoCAD and SISTEMA software. In addition to learning new programs, I also have learned more about PLC programming and how to manipulate virtual images to simulate safety faults on a real machine. I have helped forward a program that incorporates two way video and audio for people in staff and mill positions, allowing the company to save time and money between travel and machine downtime. While these skills aren't necessarily what I have learned so much in the classroom, they will definitely help me get a head start on the future classes that I will be taking.

What are your ultimate career goals? My ultimate career goals are to work on the more hands-on testing of work, in addition to the business side of engineering. Next semester I will be at a mill in Kimberly Clark, which allows me to work on the product machinery and help put my problem solving skills to work.
