Graduate Student I-Fan Lin wins People's Choice Award in Academic Community Engagement Poster Presentation
Graduate Student I-Fan Lin has won the People's Choice Award at the 3rd Annual Academic Community Engagement Poster Presentation. The poster competition is held by Center for Instructional Excellence.
This poster session is open to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students at Purdue engaged in civic engagement activities during the 2014 - 2015 fall, spring, and summer semesters, and showcases their work with various community partners locally, nationally, and internationally. The posters in the presentation reflect different service/community engagement projects by Purdue students and organizations and how service learning/community engagement has affected the student personally and academically.
I-Fan is one of the student leaders in the Boiler Out Volunteering Program, which is organized by the Purdue Office of International Programs. The Boiler Out Volunteer Program provides students with meaningful community service projects that reflect its three core values of Outreach, Understanding, and Teamwork. Participants do a variety of volunteer work alongside international and U.S. students, and local community members.
I-Fan as Student Leader helps organize various volunteer activities, such as helping with fund raising at Light the Night Walk and Polar Plunge, sorting the donations at Food Finders Food Bank, passing out food at Mobile Pantry distributions, and assisting Columbian Park during Boo at the Zoo.
I-Fan also received the 2015 College of Engineering Outstanding Service Scholarship Award and the 2015 Mortar Board Dean Betty Nelson Service Award.
