Portable tech might provide drinking water, power to villages

Professor Jerry Woodall and other researchers have developed an aluminum alloy that could be used in a new type of mobile technology to convert non-potable water into drinking water while also extracting hydrogen to generate electricity.

ECE receives gift of $99,000 from II-VI Foundation

On April 27, 2011, The II-VI Foundation announced that the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering received a gift of $99,822 to support research and development in the "Investigation of Electrostatic Interface Smoothing in SiC MOS Devices to Increase Inversion Layer Mobility," to be performed under the direction of Professor James Cooper.

Graduate Student Abhinav Pathak Receives Corporate Intel PhD Fellowship

Abhinav Pathak, a Ph.D. student in Prof. Y. Charlie Hu's group, has been selected to receive the Corporate Intel PhD Fellowship for the 2011-2012 academic year, a prestigious honor awarded to "Ph.D. candidates pursuing leading-edge work in fields related to Intel's business and research interests."
