Approximately 60 outstanding engineers under the age of 45 will meet by invitation only for an intensive 2 1/2 day symposium to discuss cutting-edge developments in four areas: Sustainable Cities, Manufacturing...The Future, Smart Grid, and Networks in Biology.

Professor Klimeck was invited by the White House to attend President Obama's manufacturing event at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh on Friday, June 24th. The event was to announce a $500 million endeavor for universities and companies to develop innovations in manufacturing.

This award recognizes the impact and lasting influence of papers published in the SIGMETRICS conference 10-12 years ago. Professor Rao's paper, "A Case for End System Multicast", was the first to show the viability of a peer-to-peer approach to Internet video broadcasting and conferencing.

The paper is entitled "Incorporating Motion in Mesh-Based Equivalent Circuits" and was originally published in the IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion Journal in June 2010.

The IEEE Circuits and Systems Society Technical Achievement Award honors individuals whose exceptional technical contributions to a field within the scope of the CAS Society have been consistently evident over a period of years.
