Professor Dan Elliott has "won" this year's HKN Turkey Contest. The turkey contest is an annual event organized by HKN before Thanksgiving Break. Students choose among three professors to wear the costume. The format of the contest this year was a "Penny War" where pennies count positive and all other change is counted negative. The contest began November 1st and ended November 17th. The three professors who participated this year, Professors Dan Elliott, Dave Meyer, and Ilya Pollak, each had a bin in the HKN lounge. The professors with the most positive balance won the honor of wearing the turkey costume.

A total of $125.50 was raised and donated to the Lafayette Urban Ministry (LUM).

Past years' winners include Professor Eric Furgason in 2009 and Professor Minghhao Qi in 2008.
