Professor Anand Raghunathan and Chunxiao Li and Niraj K. Jha of Princeton University have won a Best Paper Award at the IEEE Conference on Cloud Computing for their paper titled "Secure Virtual Machine Execution under an Untrusted OS".

Their work addresses a common scenario in cloud computing, where a user executes a virtual machine on a remote computing platform that is hosted by a service provider. The paper proposes a secure virtualization
architecture that ensures confidentiality and integrity of the programs and data in the user's virtual machine, while eliminating the management virtual machine, which is the largest and most vulnerable component,
from the code base that the user is required to trust.
