Graduate student Tanzima Zerin Islam wins award in ACM Student Research Competition

Tanzima won the award based on her poster "Harnessing Multiple Cores for Efficient Checkpointing in Grid Systems." She is supervised by Professors Saurabh Bagchi and Rudi Eigenmann.

Graduate student Tanzima Zerin Islam has won an award in the ACM Student Research Competition at the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing.

Tanzima won the runner-up award in the graduate student category in the ACM Student Research Competition (SRC) at the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing (GHC). She won the award based on her poster "Harnessing Multiple Cores for Efficient Checkpointing in Grid Systems". The SRC takes place as a part of multiple conferences such as MobiCom, PACT, GHC, etc. This event was sponsored by Microsoft Research. The winners were selected from among the 16 presenters whose posters had been selected for GHC. Tanzima is working on her PhD supervised by Professors Saurabh Bagchi and Rudi Eigenmann.
