New Student Orientation  August 12-16, 2019

Classes for the Fall 2019 semester begin on
Monday, August 19, 2019

This web site is designed to help answer your many questions. The following are links to help guide you through the site.

All new students will be required to attend the MANDATORY Orientation Session on Monday, August 12th at 8:30 AM in the EE Building, Room 170.

This program will help you become acquainted with Purdue University, and with the ECE School in particular.

See the New Student Orientation Agenda for more information.

If possible, plan to arrive in West Lafayette a few days before check-in begins so that you have time to settle in. Please feel free to stop by the ECE Graduate Office (MSEE Building-Room 140) as soon as possible to introduce yourself and to pick up a new student packet of materials. Our normal hours are 8:00 -- 12:00 a.m. and 1:00 -- 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Funded Students

ALL funded students (teaching assistants, research assistants, and fellows) must attend a payroll orientation session. Please click the link below to view dates, times and the location of the sessions.

New Teaching Assistants and Fellows

If your first language is not English, you are required to take the OEPT test administered by the Purdue Department of English. If you are a new International TA, this MUST be done during orientation week so that you are English certified to be a teaching assistant. (See the Graduate Office for your schedule.)  International students who scored 27 or higher on the Speaking portion of the TOEFL are English certified.
