The Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (CEECS) at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) invites applications for four tenure track positions starting in Spring 2015. It is desired that the candidate has an established research record in the areas of cyber, system or data security and privacy, big data analytics and machine learning and related areas. The selection process has begun.

Florida Atlantic University with over 30,000 students is a comprehensive university of the Florida State University System. The department offers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering, and M.S. degrees in Bioengineering. It has over 660 undergraduate, 140 M.S. and 80 Ph.D. students. Joint programs and collaborations exist and are encouraged between the CEECS faculty and the internationally recognized research organizations Scripps Florida, Max Planck Florida and the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, all located on FAU campuses. FAU also houses a Research Park and has recently launched the Tech Runway both of which foster innovation by supporting start-ups and collaboration with FAU professors.  

The CEECS Department has a strong record of research support from federal and state funding agencies and industry. Notable is the NSF Industry/University Cooperative Research Center for Advanced Knowledge Enablement that has over 25 industry member affiliates. Many CEECS faculty have been in collaboration with such local industry as IBM, Motorola Mobility, LexisNexis, Pace America, Lockheed Martin, and Florida Power and Light.
