Pienaar honored with NSF CAREER Award to study viral life cycles

Viruses like Ebola and SARS-CoV-2 spread and cause disease through the combined action of multiple viral proteins working together. Biomedical engineers like Elsje Pienaar are searching to limit viral reproduction in patients through a holistic view of how these proteins work together.
