"I am very honored to be selected as an Outstanding Aerospace Engineer and join an incredible team that has received the award. The personal development I experienced at Purdue has significantly influenced my life after school. Having my professional achievements recognized through this award is amazing.”

Luiz Felipe Ribeiro Valentini is the CTO of Eve Air Mobility. In this role, he leads the technical development of an Electric Vertical Takeoff & Landing (eVTOL) vehicle for urban mobility and of an Urban Air Traffic Management (UATM) system that will enable the operations of these vehicles to scale up in this environment.

Valentini was previously with Embraer for 20 years. He started as an aerodynamicist and flight mechanics engineer in various airplane developments from performing analysis to improving aerodynamics and handling qualities using various tools from vortex generators to control laws features, progressively transitioned to managing technical teams of various disciplines through the detail development and flight testing of Embraer airplanes.

In those roles, Valentini took part in several airplane development and certification projects from conceptual design to certification and entry into service, such as the Embraer Phenom 100 and Preator family of executive jets.

He has been in the eVTOL project since its beginning, applying aeronautical product standards to this new vehicle concept through an innovative development path.

In addition to developing technical solutions, Valentini believes in the strengthening of teams by empowering their members and creating processes that promote ownership, creativity and innovation.

He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Purdue University.
