Why did you choose Aeronautics and Astronautics?
I have always been interested in rockets, the stars, and outer space. As an AAE student, I'm able to learn the theory behind being able to explore the universe and learn the magic of space!
Best event or organization you’ve participated in within AAE?
Women in Aerospace! I love the community and support WiA provides to each other, and I have met so many amazing people through the organization.
Best event or organization you’ve participated in outside of AAE?
The Society of Women Engineers because of the support they have given me in my college journey so far. I’m so grateful for the help with classes, fun events, and friends I’ve made by being part of the organization. I would not have made it here without the SWE community, and I appreciate the opportunity to give back and help other girls pursue STEM.
Why did you want to be an AAE Ambassador?
I wanted to become an ambassador since I want to help prospective students in finding their passion and interests. College can be overwhelming, and I want to be a resource they can rely on for support in finding their place within university.
Favorite place on campus?
I love Honors Hall to study and hang out with friends. The room is majestic and reminds me of studying in a beautiful castle.
Favorite class you’ve taken thus far and why?
AAE333: Fluid Mechanics! Although the class was challenging, I enjoyed the content and working with my friends on the problem sets. I also enjoyed hearing from the professor who is renowned in the field.
What is one piece of advice you would give to a potential AAE student?
College isn't as scary as you think! There are so many resources (office hours, TAs, and even friends) that can help you succeed and have an amazing experience.
Who is someone you look up to in the Aero/Astro industry and why?
My mentor Dan Dumbacher because of his career path and knowledge about the aerospace industry. Hearing his advice on the aerospace industry makes me even more excited for my career in the field.
What motivates you to succeed?
The endless opportunities within the aerospace industry motivate me to work hard so that I can try everything. I am excited for the different ideas and topics
What is your ultimate career goal?
My career goal is to be work on some of the important systems (thermal, fluids, propulsion, etc.) of rockets and launch vehicles in the NASA control room!
What do you like to do when you’re not studying/in the lab or classroom?
I love hanging out with friends, crocheting, baking, and traveling around the world!
