Major: Aerodynamics
Why did you choose Aeronautics and Astronautics?
I chose AAE because as a kid, I always dreamed of pushing the boundaries of what is possible. I am obsessed with finding ways to slightly improve anything I was doing. As an aerospace major, I get to do a little bit of both each and every day!
Best event or organization you’ve participated in within AAE?
Purdue Space Day. Getting to inspire students from around Indiana about space is an incredible experience.
Best event or organization you’ve participated in outside of AAE?
BGR. Being a team leader and getting to introduce the classes of '26 and '27 to Purdue, I got to re-experience falling in love with the campus and community through the new students again.
Why did you want to be an AAE Ambassador?
I have so much enthusiasm for this campus, this college, and most importantly this major. Being able to share my love for everything related to Purdue to anyone I can is a privilege!
Favorite place on campus?
Mackey Arena
Favorite class you’ve taken thus far and why?
Sustainable Aviation in France. It was a Maymester this past summer with Professor Qiao, and having the ability to learn about the complex issues sustainable aviation is facing in advancing technology was fascinating. We also got to visit cultural sites like Versailles, industry giants such as Safran, and important French Universities L'École Polytechnique & ISAE-SUPAERO. Getting to learn a fascinating topic while immersing myself in a new culture was unforgettable.
What is one piece of advice you would give to a potential AAE student?
Stay in tune with your mental health. It is so important to surround yourself with a fun group of people that will make your college experience unforgettable. From a fun board game night to a relaxed movie night to even late night walks, make sure you are spending time doing things that make you happy.
Who is someone you look up to in the Aero/Astro industry and why?
My aerospace community. Seeing all of my classmates & professors strive for success every day and still be incredible human beings inspires me to do the same. The ability to tackle difficult homework, make complex topics understandable, and easily put a smile on someone's face is so common within our walls. Being part of this supportive and inspiring group means a lot to me.
What motivates you to succeed?
All of my parents have always been so hardworking, giving, and caring for me. Being able to make them proud and giving back to them motivates me to succeed.
What is your ultimate career goal?
I would love to be working at a high level for a Formula One team. Constantly competing with some of the world's best engineers to make an individual car the highest performing combines my competitiveness with my love of AAE.
What do you like to do when you’re not studying/in the lab or classroom?
You can usually find me losing my voice in Ross Ade & Mackey, spending as much time with my friends as possible, or playing pickleball if I’m not doing schoolwork!
