Dr. Jingfan Yang successfully completed his PhD!

Congratulations to Dr. Jingfan Yang for successfully defending his Ph.D thesis! Jingfan’s research mainly focused on mitigating irradiation-assisted stress corrosion cracking (IASCC) of additively manufactured and conventional austenitic stainless steel through various strategies. The thesis work primarily revealed dislocation channel broadening as an alternative way to improve the IASCC resistance of AM stainless steel by reducing the strain localization at the grain boundaries. The study also developed a high-throughput approach using AM to accelerate alloy development for improved IASCC resistance. Jingfan will work as a postdoctoral research associate at Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho Falls.
