Congratulations to Dr. James Barnard for successfully defending his Ph.D thesis! James completed his PhD research in the integration of multiferroic thin films onto silicon and other device-driven substrates, enabling the next generation of electronic and optical devices. The two primary methods used to achieve this integration were thin film buffer layer design and thin film transfer using a sacrificial layer. James will be moving into a role as a Surface Scientist at Micron.
