Congratulations to Dr. Ted (Tai-Jan) Huang who has successfully completed his PhD! Advised by Professor Nikhilesh Chawla, his research focused on correlative microscopy analysis utilizing x-ray tomography that was performed on Apollo 11 lunar dust samples and chondrite meteorites to establish state-of-the-art 3D structure understanding. With the confident grasp of spatial distribution information, the failure mechanism of extraterrestrial materials was investigated in a time-resolved fashion to unravel multi-scale structure-property relationships.
