Dr. Walter J. Williams successfully completes his PhD!

Congratulations to Dr. Walter J. Williams on successfully completing his PhD! Dr. Williams was advised by Professor Okuniewski, and his research focused on the crystallographic evolution within the uranium-zirconium system via time-of-flight neutron diffraction, SEM, and TEM following a novel fabrication method. Their work quantified the thermal response of the material including thermal expansion, phase morphology evolution, isotopic thermal motion of atoms, and proposing a new U-Zr phase diagram. After graduation, Dr. Williams will be joining Idaho National Laboratory.
