App snaps of meals keep your diet on track

Good nutrition is not only essential for healthy development and basic survival, but also integral to well-being and disease prevention. Health conditions linked to poor diet constitute the most frequent and preventable causes of death in the U.S. and are major drivers of healthcare costs, estimated in the hundreds of billions of dollars annually. While diet needs to be understood in order to be improved, dietary intake remains difficult to measure.

Prof. Evgenii Narimanov chosen for new Virtual Labs Faculty Fellows program

Virtual labs have been gaining ground in the College of Engineering. By combining mixed reality technologies with physics-based modeling and simulation and authentic machine interfaces, virtual labs are enriching learning. To expand the reach of this innovative instructional approach, the College has launched the Virtual Labs Faculty Fellows program, and has selected and engaged the first cohort of fellows.

Purdue Engineering names first Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fellow

Yung-Hsiang Lu, a professor of electrical and computer engineering, has developed several patented technologies and helped his students start their own companies. He is a Purdue Faculty Scholar, Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and Distinguished Scientist of the Association for Computing Machinery.
