OECE recipient and ECE alumnus Professor Ramalingam Chellappa receives K.S. Fu Prize from IAPR

The International Association for Pattern Recognition awards the prize every two years to a person in recognition of an outstanding technical contribution to the field of pattern recognition. Professor Chellappa received his MSEE and Ph.D. degrees from Purdue in 1978 and 1981, respectively, and received his OECE award in 2010. He is currently the Head of ECE at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Professor Alexandra Boltasseva selected to take part in U.S. Frontiers of Engineering Symposium

Seventy-eight of the nation's brightest young engineers have been selected to take part in the National Academy of Engineering's (NAE) 18th annual Symposium. Engineers ages 30 to 45 who are performing exceptional engineering research and technical work in a variety of disciplines will come together for the 2 1/2 day event. The participants were nominated by fellow engineers or organizations and chosen from approximately 300 applicants.
