Three ECE Nanoelectronic Modeling (NEMO) students have won 3 out of 6 Best Student Paper awards at IWCE (International Workshop for Computational Electronics) in Madison, Wisconsin.

Matthias Yui-Hong Tan won 1 of 3 Best paper awards with his paper entitled: "Full-band Study of Ultra-thin Si:P Nanowires" co-authored by Hoon Ryu, Sunhee Lee, Bent Weber, Suddhasatta Mahapatra, Michelle Y. Simmons,, L. C. L. Holleberg, and Gerhard Klimeck.

Yaohua P. Tan won 1 out of 3 honorable mentions with his paper "Generation of Empirical Tight Binding Parameters from ab-initio simulations" co-authored by Michael Povolotskyi, Tillmann Kubis, Timothy B. Boykin, and Gerhard Klimeck.

Parijat Sengupta won 1 of 3 honorable mentions with his paper "Full band electron band structure calculation with empirical tight binding for topological insulators and broken gap devices" coauthored by Tillmann Kubis, Michael Povolotskyi, and Gerhard Klimeck.
