New institute set to redefine AI and semiconductor research at Purdue and beyond

The Institute of Chips and AI, launched on Nov. 19 in Mountain View, California, in the heart of Silicon Valley, is a pioneering initiative from the Purdue University College of Engineering and the next giant leap in redefining the future of semiconductor and AI research in these transformative fields. Purdue ECE professors Kaushik Roy and Anand Raghunathan are co-directors of the institute.

U.S. Department of Commerce awards $285M Manufacturing USA Institute to SRC-led consortium with Purdue as lead academic institution

Purdue University has been named the Lead Academic Digital Twin Center for the SMART USA Institute, a $1 billion initiative focused on advancing semiconductor manufacturing and packaging through digital twin technology, making it the largest-ever Manufacturing USA Institute. Funded by the CHIPS Manufacturing USA program, the consortium spans over 30 states and includes 150+ partners, with Purdue receiving up to $30 million in the first year to drive research, education, and workforce development in the semiconductor ecosystem.

Purdue University Prof. Timothy Rogers inducted into MICRO Hall of Fame for research in computer architecture
