Professor Klimeck, Director of the Network for Computational Nanotechnology, and David McKinnis, Director, Technical Assistance Program and Associate Vice Provost for Engagement, participated in an announcement of the newly formed National Digital Engineering and Manufacturing Consortium (NDEMC).

Metals are widely used throughout the fields of plasmonics and metamaterials owing to their unique focusing capabilities. Research has now shown that doped, low-loss semiconductors compatible with standard nanoelectronic fabrication processes could outperform metals in certain applications.

The IBM Ph.D. Fellowship Awards Program is an intensely competitive worldwide program, which honors exceptional Ph.D. students. Saptarshi's advisor is Professor Joerg Appenzeller and his research interest is experimental nanoelectronics and low dimensional device modeling.

On October 29, 2010 Professor Gerhard Klimeck, along with George Adams, NCN Associate Director, and David McKinnis, Director of the Technical Assistance Program, presented nanoHUB.org and Purdue's HUBzero technology to the White House.

Professor Clark received this award in the amount of $10,000 for his invention of self-calibratable force-displacement microsensors.

A major new building combining academic, research and retail spaces is coming to Purdue University, including Wang Hall, which will house research laboratories and offices for faculty, staff, and graduate students.
