Major Professors are invited to submit nominations for the 2018-2019 Schmidt Science Fellows program.  This is the second year that the Purdue Graduate School has been asked to nominate five candidates for these prestigious postdoctoral fellowships.  Eligible nominees include those who have received the Ph.D. degree in computing, engineering, mathematics, or the natural sciences (life, physical, and earth sciences) between  May 1, 2018, and June 30, 2019.  In addition, nominees should be available to participate in the Schmidt Science Fellows program from July 2019 through July 2020. 

In order for the Graduate School to meet its August 31 deadline to forward five names to the Schmidt Science Fellows program, please send your nominations to me by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15.  Please submit the following:

·         A statement from the major professor supporting the nomination

·         A personal statement from the candidate (about 500 words) detailing interest in the program

·         A current CV

The attachment tells more about the Schmidt Science Fellows selection process as well as one which describes the program.  Please note that the five Ph.D. graduates/doctoral candidates selected to represent Purdue will have much more to submit as part of the Schmidt Science Fellows selection process.
