Part-time programmer Position in Plant Systems Biology & Evolutionary Genomics
Purdue University Center for Plant Biology

A programmer position at Purdue’s Center for Plant Biology – in the laboratory of Dr. Kranthi Varala - is available as part of a 4-year DOE Grant entitled: EvoNet: A phylogenomic and systems biology approach to identify genes underlying plant survival in marginal, low-N soils.

The successful applicant will have skills and experience in programming and project management. The position will include analyses (including Machine learning approaches) on biological datasets using Python, Perl, R and/or other programming languages. Experience with HPC and job scheduling systems is highly desirable. This position also includes Project Management duties, which involve collaborative software development at three participating institutions, maintaining and expanding current code base. This project presents an excellent opportunity to work with scientists from a broad range of expertise.
