Marconi Society Paul Baran Young Scholar Award

Priority: No

Our award is the Marconi Society Paul Baran Young Scholar Award. We will take nominations for the award through June 30, 2017 and will start sharing information about the award directly with top research universities next week.

The Marconi Society, established in 1974 to honor Nobel Laureate and radio inventor Guglielmo Marconi, proudly offers several annual Young Scholar awards to recognize young scientists and engineers with the potential to make extraordinary contributions in the field of information and communications science. We are committed to diversity in gender and geography in our Young Scholar cohort. We would welcome nominations from your university.

The award confers the following benefits:

Inspirational Networking with luminaries, including Vint Cerf, Marty Cooper and Len Kleinrock, who have deep connections into a range of industries.

International Recognition: The Young Scholar award gives instant credibility to a researcher’s work and provides a global platform to share research.

Social Impact: Marconi Fellows and Young Scholars have a shared goal of using technology to improve the world. The Celestini Project let Young Scholars directly mentors students in developing countries.

Each awardee receives a $4000 cash prize and $1000 in expenses to attend the annual award recognition dinner and symposium.
