OIGP November Social Justice Seminar

OIGP November Social Justice Seminar

The Office of Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs (OIGP) cordially invites you to an Interdisciplinary Social Justice Seminar Series:

Complex Conversations: Disability and the Graduate School Experience

This presentation brings together disability and graduate programs. As two disabled women who have gone through both MA and PhD programs, we are uniquely positioned to articulate how disability impacts the educational environment and vice versa. Our presentation’s goals are to engage in a conversation with others who are similarly situated in graduate school, disabled or not. While this presentation will highlight how the disabled experience may impact graduate work, it will also draw attention to the experiences that are representative of the graduate-school experience as a whole, and as such, are not necessarily exclusive to those who are disabled. Finally, our presentation will demonstrate the dynamic ways in which graduate education can be complicated, inclusive, and enlightening.
