We are looking to hire a Graduate Research Assistant on a project on embedded security and applied cryptography. PIs are: Prof. Saurabh Bagchi (ECE) and Prof. Aniket Kate (CS).
 
The initial position is for one year, with progress being reviewed at the end of each semester, and the possibility of extension beyond that period depending on progress and availability of funds. The student should be a MS or PhD student in CS or ECE --- this includes the possibility of students starting at Purdue in Fall. The position is available now. 
 
The project tasks immediately are:
1) Extension of a blockchain-based smart contract system for embedded devices
2) Embedded system programming for networked protocol on a testbed of such devices
 
The student will have exposure to the latest technologies in blockchain and embedded security and be developing on a state-of-the-art embedded testbed, which include aerial drones. The student will be publishing work at the top conferences and presenting work to the entire team, including external sponsors. 
 
Skills required:
* Good system building skills
* Network programming, with network crypto protocols
 
Desired skills:
* Knowledge of blockchain technology
* Programming on NVIDIA mobile GPU boards
