Summer Grant Writing Courses GRAD 550 and GRAD 590 open for Registration

Summer Grant Writing Courses GRAD 550 and GRAD 590 open for Registration

Two grant writing courses for the first 8-week session summer session (May 17 - July 9) are open for registration to any masters or PhD student in a research-based program:

GRAD 550 (CRN 29086) Grant Writing - This 2.0 credit hour*, pass/no pass, class gives you a structured system to practice proposal writing and prepare fellowship application statements. Class content focuses on common fellowship application components and the analysis of writing mechanics and content. *Currently it is in the system as a 1.0 credit hour class but that will be changed to 2.0 credit hours soon.

GRAD 590 (CRN 29706) Grant Writing - This 1.0 credit hour, pass/no pass, class focuses on learning information that is fundamental to grant and fellowship writing. GRAD 590 uses the same lecture content from GRAD 550 but with quizzes instead of assignments and discussion boards.

The attached flyer gives details of each. Please note that GRAD 550 is currently listed as an online class, although if vaccines are made available to all of campus prior to summer, then the course will be changed to in-person.

When the classes fill up, students are encouraged to email Lisa Nielsen to request placement on the waitlist for either class.

GRAD 550 will not be offered in the fall, but it will be offered again in Spring 2022.

Students, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions - I'm happy to help!
