The Biomedical Engineering Society selected Professor James F. Leary as a 2012 BMES Fellow. BMES Fellows were recognized at the 2012 Annual Meeting in Atlanta, October 24-27.

Gaharwar, Recent Weldon Alum, Receives Acta Student Award

Dr. Akhilesh Gaharwar has been selected to receive an annual Acta Student Award for his primary contribution to the manuscript, "Assessment of using Laponite cross-linked poly(ethylene oxide) for controlled cell adhesion and mineralization," Acta Biomaterialia 7 (2011) 568-577, written while he was a graduate student with Prof. Gudrun Schmidt at Purdue.

Peter Carlsgaard, a Purdue graduate of the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering, received a scholarship to attend the World Congress on Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering in Beijing, China in May.

Weldon School to Host 2nd Annual Multimodal NLO Microscopy Symposium and Workshop

Registration is now open for the 2nd Annual Multimodal NLO Microscopy Workshop taking place July 26 through 27, 2012 at Purdue University. This is the second workshop to highlight various modalities of nonlinear optical microscopy in a one-day symposium and offer practicum workshops with state-of-the-art microscopes.
