Two junior faculty members recognized with named professorships

Tamara Kinzer-Ursem and Jacqueline Linnes were named Marta E. Gross Assistant Professors of Biomedical Engineering through the Purdue College of Engineering's Rising Star program. The Rising Star Program recognizes assistant and associate professors for their exceptional accomplishments and leadership in research, teaching, and engagement.

Les Geddes’ legacy continues with two named professorships

Through the Purdue College of Engineering’s Rising Star Program, Sarah Calve and Craig Goergen were named Leslie A. Geddes Assistant Professors of Biomedical Engineering for their exceptional accomplishments in research, teaching, and engagement. The limited-term professorships recognize two promising junior faculty members early in their careers while honoring a distinguished professor and brilliant researcher who left an unparalleled legacy.

Solorio receives ASPIRE Award for cancer research

The Mark Foundation for Cancer Research has awarded an ASPIRE Award to Luis Solorio, assistant professor at the Purdue Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering, and his collaborator, Wilbert Zwart, group leader at the Netherlands Cancer Institute and Oncode Institute. The team is conducting innovative translational science in cancer research, specifically on development of a model that may enable prediction of the effectiveness of drug therapies for cancers that have metastasized.
