The Proteins and Cells at Interfaces Special Interest Group (PCI SGI) of the Society for Biomaterials
has presented Janice McKenzie with a second place award for her poster. The poster, entitled
"Astrocyte Adhesion and Proliferation on Carbon Nanofibers," was presented at their 28th Annual
Meeting in Tampa, Florida, April 24-27, 2002.

Janice is an NSF IGERT Fellow working on her Ph.D. in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at
Purdue under the guidance of her advisor, Professor Tom Webster.
