Rachel Danczyk Receives Fearnot Prize

Event Date: December 9, 2002

A research presentation by Rachel C. Danczyk on investigating immuno-surface characteristics for application in biosensor design in BME's summer seminar series has earned her this year's Fearnot Prize. Rachel will finish up her Master's degree under Professor Ann Rundell in May of 2003, and has been accepted into the Indiana University School of Medicine in the fall.

The Fearnot Prize is sponsored by Neal Fearnot, a Purdue alum who wanted to perpetuate the valuable lessons he learned as a student by doing a research presentation during BME's summer seminar series. The award is given for the best summer seminar, based on the evaluations from faculty, staff and other individuals at the seminar. Fearnot is currently president of MED Institute, a company that was established to identify and develop new medical product concepts. MED Institute employs a staff of research, engineering, legal and technical consultants.
