Purdue BME PhD Student Carl Russell III Advances Kidney Disease Research and Pediatric Device Innovation

As a PhD student in Purdue's Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering and an MD/PhD student in the IU School of Medicine-Purdue Medical Scientist Training Program, Carl Russell III is advancing research on how chronic kidney disease affects bone health while helping develop innovative medical devices for neonatal patients. Guided by faculty mentors across engineering and medicine, Russell aims to improve patient care through clinical practice, translational research and biomedical innovation.
