Clinical Programs
Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering faculty, students, and staff work closely with numerous clinical partners for a variety of education, research, and outreach efforts. We offer our students multiple rigorous clinical experiences that complement classroom learning. Through Purdue, Indiana University School of Medicine, and NIH-supported training programs, our students are trained to innovate and translate next generation medical devices and therapies. We particularly emphasize clinical immersion experiences to help with early-stage innovation, successful development, and translation of novel healthcare technologies. Our faculty collaborate closely with physicians to maximize clinical impact from essential research and discovery efforts. This cross-disciplinary program is designed to develop an interdisciplinary workforce of engineers and clinicians that innovate, design, and translate bioengineering technologies.
