Hertig Named Alfred Mann Institute Director
A former president and CEO of an international producer of medical devices will serve as the executive director of the Alfred Mann Institute for Biomedical Development at Purdue University.
Purdue and Purdue Research Foundation officials announced Friday (Nov. 30) that John C. Hertig, the former president and CEO of Enpath Medical Inc. in Minneapolis, will be the institute's inaugural executive director. The Purdue engineering alumnus begins his duties on Monday (Dec. 3). Purdue And GE Healthcare Advance Imaging Innovation In New Facility
A long and productive history of research between Purdue's Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering and GE Healthcare will serve as a framework for future innovation in a new medical imaging facility dedicated today at the Purdue Research Park. The facility includes a state-of-the-art 3-Tesla MRI system. The planned research builds on previous collaborative efforts between biomedical engineering and GE to perform key safety studies for fast scan MRI techniques and to enhance images from Computed Tomography (CT) systems.
