The following report spotlights the reflections of BME student Shishir Biswas on his experiences in Galway, Ireland with the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering's study abroad program.
Four Purdue Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering students are taking classes in Galway, Ireland during the Fall semester of 2011. These students have begun their senior design projects while they are in Galway, with the assistance of NUIG faculty members. In the second semester the students will return to the Purdue campus and complete these projects with their senior design teammates. The following is the first progress report from one of our students:

Demonstrating their shared legacy of innovative research and commitment to patient-centered medical technology, Purdue University, University of Notre Dame and GE Healthcare announce a proprietary new CT scanning reconstruction technology called Veo that may enable physicians to diagnose patients with high-clarity images at previously unattainable low radiation dose levels.
Under their "Latest News" banner, Chemical and Engineering News showcased the mass spectrometry work being done by Weldon School's Zheng Ouyang in conjunction with Graham Cooks and other colleagues.
As part of the educational alliance between the campuses of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, and the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez, Abbott Laboratories awarded $40,000 between the two institutions to support graduate students working on issues related to cancer and cardiovascular diseases.
