Michael Ladisch, Distinguished Professor in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering and Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering and director of Purdue's Laboratory of Renewable Resources Engineering (LORRE) has been named a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors.

Craig Goergen receives AHA grant

Craig Goergen, assistant professor of biomedical engineering, received a Scientist Development Grant from the American Heart Association (AHA) for his work in developing a novel imaging system to characterize and monitor vascular disease, specifically abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA).

Charles Babbs inducted into Book of Great Teachers

Sixty-eight Purdue professors, including Weldon School's Charles Babbs, were honored Monday (Dec. 2) when they were inducted into the Book of Great Teachers, which honors outstanding teaching faculty who have demonstrated sustained excellence in the classroom.

Corey Neu Receives R01 Grant

Corey Neu, assistant professor of biomedical engineering, received a Research Project Grant (R01) of approximately $1.6 million from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for his work in the early detection of osteoarthritis (OA). OA is a chronic, debilitating disease that affects some 27 million Americans, and much of the $128 billion spent on arthritis-related health care costs in the U.S. annually goes toward the treatment of OA.
