AAE Unexcused Exam Policy
Students are expected to take all scheduled examinations at the assigned time. Absences without an approved University absence will be considered unexcused.
For any unexcused absence from a midterm exam, the missed exam will not be rescheduled or made up. To avoid earning a zero for an unexcused midterm, the student must notify the instructor at least three business days in advance of the exam. Upon receiving such notification, the instructor will reallocate the weight of the missing midterm to the final exam, thereby increasing the final exam’s contribution to the overall course grade.
For any unexcused absence from a final exam, the student must notify the instructor at least three business days in advance of the exam. The instructor, may, at their discretion, assign an incomplete and allow the student to take the final exam at the next opportunity, usually at the end of the next AY semester. Note that the student is responsible for adjusting their plan of study in cases where the incomplete grade results in the student missing a prerequisite for planned course(s). The student is responsible for attending the make-up final at the time and location assigned by the registrar to the particular course offering.
