Description:
This course presents ISO 41001 and associated standards applicable for facility management organizations and coaches the student in the development and writing of a management system standard for a specific organization, typically an organization the student is working in or has access to details about the physical facilities used by the organization.

Projects:
The entire course is centered around the development of a management system standard (MSS) for a specific company and organization. The MSS is developed in steps each focusing on the Deming Cycle, PDCA. Each portion of the MSS is critiqued by the professor and students are coached on developing a focus of the MSS.

Computer Requirements:
Access to standard word-processing software is required. Additional software for graphics may be desired by the student.
Students should be able to attend periodic conferences with the instructor to receive feedback on the project and to ask questions, if any, to develop a complete project. The instructor prefers Zoom but may also use Teams or other conferencing software. On-on-one meetings may be scheduled at the student's convenience.
