The American Heart Association selected Purdue University's proposal for their “Institutional Award for Undergraduate Student Training” program. This creates a new three year summer program called "Cardiovascular Disease and Biomedical Engineering at Purdue/Indiana University" which will leverage Purdue’s existing Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program to nationally recruit diverse undergraduate students for participation in cardiovascular and stroke-related research projects in an interdisciplinary context. The $165K award will fund five summer researchers annually, including attending a research conference to present their work.

The Royal Microscopical Society (RMS) is delighted to announce Professor Joseph Paul Robinson as its latest Honorary Fellow. Robinson, known as Paul and even ‘JPR’, has made a huge contribution worldwide to the field of Cytometry. This includes his list-serv ‘Purdue Cytometry List’ which is utilized by over 4,500 cytometrists, his work to teach Cytometry in Africa through his Cytometry for Life organization, and his patented Cytometry technologies.
